Almost missed this beauty! love the details, like the little symbols on his skin and clothing. even the necklace seems to be telling a story.

the hands are warped and it underlines the misic vibes i am getting from this. smart guy right there.

good stuff! what did you use to make this? *if i may ask.

NoroDoro responds:

Thank you! I used paint tool sai with the Airbrush tool set to the fuzzytastic texture

Thank you!

good stuff there! i have sooooo much to learn and so little time. i wish i could afford going unemployed for a year just to get to those levels.

you made me look up an old piece of art that i would have never seen without your painting. thanks! and also: great work! HOWEVER the dragon needs tiny minions too... friggin angels ganging up on him like that. it is also interesting that you are additionally using the inverted triangle as a symbol. to me it even stands out more than the halo of the angel..maybe too much? i don't know.
this is one of those pictures that i want to take a look at more than once.

Granfaloon responds:

Great observations, Thank you! and glad you liked it!

this is giving me emotions. he looks like a midget barbarian who found a giant magical sword and has turned totally badass! i mean look at his face, the wide open mouth and then look at his eyes - he is not aiming for his opponents head..he is aiming for the bad knee with that wide swing. and we all know there is no escape from a tiny barbarians wrath!

this one seems like it has it all...great linework, light and shadow, colours, composition. i also like how you did those old leaves on the ground before the figure. if it would have been me i think i would have been tempted to actually draw a lot there and waste time on something not so important. i need to learn how to just slap on some basic shapes and let the mind of the viewer somehow do the rest while he/she is focused on the important stuff. i will favorite this one.

themefinland responds:

I think you are pretty spot on with what you said :) Learning to detail only specific parts of an illustration is as important part of composition as shapes or values. The eye is lead towards spots with more detail, after all!

not really active anymore on NG but i come and check it out from time to time.
