a frontpage well deserved!
a frontpage well deserved!
Aye thanks man! :>
great work. would like to see it less pixilated
Thank you! It does look like pixels, doesn't it? It's one of the canvas brushes I'm using. It can look a bit messy, but for some reason I kinda like it.
It is frontpaged sooo..you are doing great! :D
I need to work a lot harder to get where you are. Really like the way you chose different brushes and put the light to use for your composition.
Thanks! Light is my favourite thing to play around with :)
i must say, the original has its very own charme. the new one looks a lot better if you look at the pure craftsmanship. the leather is very well done. the original still feels more alive somehow.
Thank you, glad you liked the old one as well. The only reason i did this drawing it's because i was looking at the old version and thought.."how would it look if i redrew her?" and there she goes haha
what did you find hard about it in particular?
just how to get started on it really. Do you paint the plane first and then add the fire afterwards? by doing that you run into the issue of not being able to start the lighting on the ground until the end. and I like to block in lighting first.
OR
Do you paint the fire first without having a plane to put it on. (this is what I did btw)
i need your mentor ._.
mentors are really important to develop as an artist. If you are completely self-taught, at some point you will hit a roadblock in your progress as an artist. To overcome this roadblock, you need external input
very nice work. you have made big jumps in 2019. what happened there? Any book or course you have picked up back then, something you would recommend? also that speedpaint on youtube should have had more views. well done and relaxing!
Thanks :)
No not really, I simply change my focus, I started to use more reference images
and instead of focusing on all the fundamentals when I was painting
I now choose one of them while at the same time leaning into lighting because
that is what I am most comfortable with.
there is something very good going on about the way you have used the blue light
Thanks theguestquester
The blue light is there to create a mood of dark mystical magic.
It also help to put the character in focus,
and a painting is always more intriguing with two light sources :)
brilliant! whish i had this skill to be so loose yet precise with the brush. any hints for me? my paintings sometimes feel like i really had to fight my way through them every squarecentimeter
Thanks. I looked through your artwork and I think that you should be proud of what you have done. Because the concept's never easy. In my opinion, the artist needs to know about everything before starting with concept art. In my case, I still do master study and specify in portrait to learn the fundamentals. So I think that you should work more, realize your incomplete and fix them. You will progress a lot. Please fell free to DM me to discuss about art. You're welcomed.
the colour-choice and the way they were applied are very nice. what did you use to get this look?
Procreate on Ipad.
not really active anymore on NG but i come and check it out from time to time.
