this looks pretty nice..but not for long. i think it might be just me but a landscape like this gives my eyes no point to rest upon. they keep wandering from high contrast to high contrast trying to find the point of interest. i know it was quite some work and i am by NO means a city painting expert, but whatever the focal point is here, enhance its impact. if this was my painting then i would play around with the particles in the air, the dirt of the city in combination with the natural light source and their shadow a little bit more

CowFz responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I think this has to do with my own bad choices, cityscapes are probably one of my least known things to approach, I wanted one tower to stand out the most but I thought it would become too bland then I probably added too much unnecessary detail and as such lost the main focal point of the piece.

great stuff! liking the lineart on the face and hand above it. at your age i was still struggling with colour-pencils. the last painting i wanted to do for my sister was ...rejected xD

rrydawg responds:

Lmao thanks so much!

nice stuff. colour is also still a more or less unexplored territory for me..each time i plan some colours for a painting i am insecure and am limiting my palette because i don't know what all does not work xD...i saw some of those kitsch paintings made by thomas kinkade and while i am not really a fan of those it was impressive how he just put all those colours in his paintings like he did not care at all.
my favorite here is the blue monster and plant...was immediately having ideas for stories for those 2 :)

CowFz responds:

Thanks! and I think It's fine to use a smaller color palette mine isn't even that big to begin with, but you should see the crap I made like a year ago when basically just used only one color for everything lmao.
edit: checked out Thomas Kinkades paintings and I don't know how to describe it but all of them have that whimsical feeling to it

did that colour palette sneak in there or is/was that intentional?

Spiderberry responds:

It's intentional, since she's an adoptable,I want people to see what colors are used,it makes it easier for whoever buys her to redraw her. Thank you for the review!

this specific way of crosshatching is very interesting..saw it in another on of your works too and thought that this was something you don't come accross every day.. do you feel like it is done or do you want to add more colour to it?

DarkAngel45000 responds:

I think I saw this kind of crosshatching on someone else's work, although it was more to convey a specific texture, like rock or wood. I think it adds interet to the drawing and doing it is pretty relaxing actually :D
Well I'm not very good with colours and I'm afraid the piece will lose in sharpness if I do colour it in... I just added the dark brown in the background to get a little sense of the perspective but I don't think I will add more colours.

must say i like the inking a lot in this one and it looks like you got your anatomy mostly on point...did not know darth maul was such a beast xD

DarkAngel45000 responds:

Thank you! Yeah used a lot of reference for the anatomy and I was trying different styles for the inking, some imprecisions here and there but overall I'm pretty happy with the result :)
Well since we mostly see him in robes there's no telling of his level of fitness :D However I think Qui-gon may agree with your statement xD

good work but you nailed it with the coloration and values being far from perfect. IF you are willing to put more time into it then my suggestion would be opening the piece in photoshop and slapping one layer of colour after the other onto it..i think with a bit of digital work this could turn out very rewarding. try it out. you cant break it and it might be fun =)

DarkAngel45000 responds:

Yup I am not really good with colours as you might expect from the number of ink drawings I do :/ but I do think that going back on this work and try to have a better result is a good idea!
Might come back to it since I have a scan of the linework.
Thanks for the review!

really nice idea! i also want a personal penforge. a few days ago i was so desperate for a good pen that i was drawing with a sharpened stick and ground up coal in a jar of water. xD (actually worked astonishingly well btw!)

DarkAngel45000 responds:

Thank you! I always wanted that kind of service, I guess it was only natural to put it on paper :D
But I still have sooo much to learn when it comes to digital painting, something you do really well :p

found someing very nice here! thanks for shaing. it is awesome, but i must say i am not a fan of those stars.

Kamikaye responds:

Thanks ! :) I admit there are diffrent styles, its not said that I stay ith this forever.

that is a fucking flying horse in the background?! yay!

MagusSerling responds:

Fun Fact: It's less 'flying' and more 'catapulted.' Animals that stumble on the trapapaults are hurdled toward a great griddle in which they will become flattened meat pancakes called plopcakes.

not really active anymore on NG but i come and check it out from time to time.
